EZ Baccarat is like the regular version, except that it eliminates taking the 5% commission on a winning bank hand, without modifying the drawing rules of the regular game. It refers to barring one specific winning bank hand, which is a three card totaling of seven.
The objective of the game remains the same as in regular baccarat – to have the highest point hand, a natural two-card 9. All the face cards and ten cards have a value of zero and the aces have a value of one.
The customer will make a wager on a player hand, a banker hand and a tie hand, or combinations of them. The customer can also optionally place a side bet, which is the Dragon 7 bet, with a three-card winning total of seven. The Dragon 7 bet usually happens twice per shoe, and pays 40 to 1. The house rules will determine who can remove the cards from the shoe and whether the cards are dealt face down or face up.
Two cards are dealt to the players and the bankers with the player’s hand being resolved first. If either the player of the banker get a total value of 8 or 9 in the initial deal, then no further cards will be drawn, but if neither the player or the banker have an 8 or 9, then an additional card is dealt to the player hand, if the player has a point value of 5 or less. If the player has an initial total of 6 or 7, then he stands.
After the cards have been drawn as per the rules of the game, the hand with the highest point total wins, except if the winning bank hand is a Dragon 7. If the banker hand is a Dragon 7, (three-card win with a total of 7) the banker hand is a push, where the player and tie hands lose and the Dragon 7 wins. No commission will be paid on bank hands that win. The Dragon 7 optional bet loses if there are any other results.
